Letter from the Chair
Letter From the Chair
Happy New Year everyone! It is
truly an honor to serve as your SJVC
Chairman. As we move forward
into 2009, many are relieved to lay
2008 to rest. We are all aware of
the changes that transpired during
this past year; nevertheless we
cannot loose sight of the
magnificence that also occurred.
We are an industry that is innovative, strong, and resilient.
As your chairman, I encourage all of us to look at this time
as one of great opportunity. To reflect on what we have
accomplished and do more of it, and what we have fallen
short on and raise the bar.
There is a model known as the the “Cycle of Creative
Destruction” in which momentum builds and inspires
creativity, complacency eventually sets in, followed by
atrophy which can accurately define the circumstances we
are currently experiencing.
That being said, just as a “New Year” is a beginning, we
now have an enormous opportunity before us to emerge
from the end of one cycle and create new momentum to
shape our industry and our destiny.
In times of change, we look for consistency and one
constant you can count on is that your 2009 API board will
continue to support our industry and community through
events and charitable contributions. I look forward to
seeing all of you at our first general meeting on January 20,
2009 and personally wishing you a “Happy New Year”
As always, I am appreciative of your continuing support.
Sincerely,
Jodi M. King
SJVC Chairman
