Adopt-A-Highway
May 2008 Highway Cleanup Crew
On
Saturday, May 31st, nineteen API members gathered for the semi-annual
clean up of our stretch of Enos Lane between Stockdale and Rosedale
Highways. They started the day with breakfast at the Golden Bull hosted
by John Braun. Next they reviewed the CalTrans safety video and donned
their PPE and headed off to do their part in API's community
involvement. Because of the large turnout, the two miles of roadway was
cleaned up in just an hour. Way to go! That is the way it is supposed to
work.

Letter from the Chair
It is a time of the year for your API Board Members to
take a sigh of relief! (Albeit, it won’t be a long one as we have much
more to do before the year is over) What an amazing group they are.
Black Gold Productions had a successful run again this year highlighting
the many talents of those both in and out of our industry. This troupe
certainly is to be commended on yet another great performance.
I personally want to thank all the members of the Golf Committee for
their tireless effort to bring you a fantastic tournament. Although the
accounting is not yet complete, it appears that we just may surpass the
spectacular results of years past. Of course, the committee members were
not the only ones who contributed to our grand success. On behalf of
your API board members we THANK YOU, the community who provided food and
refreshments on the course, donated prizes, gave monetary donations, and
came out to the tournament in record numbers. API events are only as
good as the support they receive from our industry, and we thank all of
those who participated in our shared success.
Right on the heels of the tournament, many of us joined either Black
Gold Productions/API or other teams as we walked in the American Cancer
Society’s Relay for Life. This team continues to set the bar for major
success and reached yet another milestone. We express our deepest
gratitude to all of the team members.
There is still more fun ahead fellow members. Don’t forget to come out
and show your support on May 31, 2008 for the next Adopt-a-Highway
cleanup. You can find all the details in the newsletter and I am sure
our Adopt-a-Highway Chairman, John Braun, will bring a sign up sheet to
the meeting. Hope to see all of you at the next general meeting May19,
2008.
Until then, kind regards.
