The history behind this site is simple... Our original plan was to build an outside BBQ. Step one was to find some plans on the internet, make a selection and then build to the plan. After months of intensive searches, we found very few detailed plans available. So we set out to build a BBQ from scratch and decided to document every step along the way. Take a look at the example snapshots below and then if you think you are ready, enter our site for unlimited data and ideas of how this particular project materialized and turned into a dream BBQ come true.

The following photos are examples taken from the site. We think you will find the photo gallery impressive. Parts used throughout the project were photographed. There were some important lessons learned of what to NOT do when building a BBQ... all recorded and shared within the site (see section 'Do and Don't')

The following is a summary list of what makes up this web site.

• Suppliers - Receipts for items purchased were gathered along the way and are presented to you in a table format allowing you to get an immediate feel for how much this type of project could cost. The list is broken down into different sections, including materials required, possible labor costs, tools and miscellaneous. We felt the categories were important in an effort to provide you with the maximum amount of information.
• Quantities - The same table format shows quantities of items required. This is particularly helpful in an effort to avoid numerous trips to your local DIY (Do It Yourself) supplier at various times throughout the duration of the project.
• Photos - Over 200 photos illustrate the detail and quality of work that went into making this project a success. The photos are also intended to indicate how events looked and occurred versus trying to explain the event using simple text.
• Plans - AutoCAD (design software) was used to work out the structure design. AutoCAD allowed for an accurate representation of how the structure would look at completion. AutoCAD was also used while consideration was given to multiple tile layout designs for the finished worktop.
• Contacts - Information is provided related to all our suppliers of components and parts used to complete this project (see section 'Contact Information')
